John
William Schwartz was born in Cleveland, Ohio
He attended the Cleveland Institute of Art.
where he received the Faculty scholarship award
to attend the Lake Placid
School of Art.
He studied with Julian
Stanzack and H.Carroll
Cassill.
As a result, he was strongly influenced by
the
Bauhaus pedagogy and art work ethic.
His works have always been inspired by
nature and man's relation
to nature.
While his focus is on drawing and painting,
he
is also an accomplished sculptor
working with papier-måché
and also ceramics and wood.
